Onto The Next Chapter | Explorar la Ciudad ● Medellín, Colombia



Today was another day of sightseeing for us. We went to the Botero Plaza where Tim and I went to the Museo de Antioquia, where all the famous artwork and sculptures by artist Fernando Botero are.
It is a Saturday and there was some kind of concert outside. (They weren't good, but it was entertaining.) It was really crowded and today was extra humid and hot, so I wasn't feeling well. We had a quick lunch at a restaurant close by and then headed home.

Not sure if I mentioned this before, but we tend go out to eat less and would rather buy groceries and make food at home. We were very fortunate to stay with Mamie and Daniel here and for breakfast, Mamie made us French Toast.


Then for dinner, we had a delicious beef bone broth soup with vegetables.


Gotta love home cooked meals! We definitely feel spoiled staying with them. Glad to have met them and spent time with them. 😁

I didn't take much photos today, but this was one of my favorites.


Short post today, today was an off day for me and I think I'm starting to get tired of keeping up with this travelers' life of sightseeing and exploring the city. It still hasn't really hit me that I will be out here for 4-5 months. It still feels like a vacation and that I will be going back to work in a week or two. The Adventure Begins | Museum Day ● Bogotá, Colombia

It's been a great few days here in Bogotá! On Friday, August 4th, we woke up to an overcast day & slightly sprinkling. We were thinking of going to visit Monserrate today, but since the weather was overcasted, we decided to save it for another day. Instead, it seemed like the perfect day to visit museums around the area. First thing in the morning, I get to look forward to this: Breakfast Made by Tim 😍 We headed out around 12pm to the bus station. Tim did most of the navigation of which bus we need to get on to go to the Museo del Oro. But getting to the bus station was pretty easy and all you need is to buy one of their bus cards (they're rechargeable for multiple uses). We got to the Museo del Oro (Gold Museum) and it was $4.000 per ticket. Onto The Next Chapter | Travel Day ● Medellín, Colombia

Our Beautiful View in Bogotá (2017-08-10) Today, we flew out of Bogotá to Medellín (about 30-40 minutes flight) with VivaColombia . I had purchased the tickets in advance ($63 for 2 of us), not including our 2 checked baggage and boarding pass which came out to be about $60. Note: If you can, print out our boarding passes at your hotel or hostel because they charge you to print it at the airport and you need a physical copy of the pass (can't be on your phone).  We arrived in Medellín at 16:30 and prior to arriving, I had arranged a private driver to pick us up (he was recommended by our friends who just moved to Colombia). He's a super nice guy and speaks perfect English! He gave us some tips and suggestions on where to go and what to do. Spring Bucket List 2017

I can't even count how many different bucket lists I've done my entire life, & had rarely accomplished anything on them. In Summer '12, I came up with an idea to make a bucket list that was doable. I figured out how many days there were in summer (June 20th to Sept 22nd) and created a list of 94 things I wanted to do before summer ended. I can't remember where I put that list or even what I had on that list. I had so much fun doing it and it motivated me to go out & do things! According to Google, Spring 2017 in Northern Hemisphere will start on Monday, March 20 and will end on Tuesday, June 20, which means there is 92 days of spring. Let's start my Spring Bucket List 2017 !
